We have over 17 years experience with Digital Vax Minicomputers running
the VAX/VMS (or OpenVMS) Operating System. This experience covers a wide range
of activities such as programming (especially COBOL), systems analysis,
operations, technical support, systems management, hardware specification
& configuration for new installations, VMS upgrades, layered product
installation, etc., etc. In fact most things have been covered at some time
or other.

We have been connected to the Internet since June 1994 and so have a very good understanding of the operations and processes involved and the
problems which may arise. We can help the beginner choose an Internet Service
Provider, appropriate hardware and suitable software.

Having built, supplied and worked with PCs for a number of years now we are
in a good position to be able to offer guidance and support either if you
are thinking of making your first purchase, or if you feel your present
system needs updating. Although we are able to supply hardware and
software (see our sales section) our advice will be
based solely on what we believe is best for your particular circumstance,
and, if it is thought that an investment in hardware or software is
pertinent, you will be under no pressure to make your purchase through us.
There is a bewildering array of options on general availability, many of which
may be unsuitable or inappropriate. The PC Industry creates a lot of marketing
hype in order to persuade the consumer that the PC they bought yesterday is
already obsolete and should be replaced. We can narrow down those options
and cut through the marketing hype (for instance do you really need a
Pentium III?) so that you can make a better-informed judgement.

If you want a faster processor or better graphics card installed in your PC, or if it requires additional memory or disk space, or if you are
not sure of your requirements but feel that it may need updating or upgrading in some way, then we can provide the necessary guidance in understanding and analysing your requirements, making the appropriate purchase and effecting the installation.

We will talk to you so that we can fully understand your requirements and guide you through the selection process. If you wish we can also undertake any or all of the selection, purchase and installation processes on your behalf.

If you have never backed up the information on your computer's hard disk then
your PC is exposed to the risk of losing some or all of that information if
the disk should fail. Modern disk drives are relatively reliable devices, but it
is exactly this reliability that lulls us into a false sense of security.
In the worst case you may have to replace your hard disk, and therefore you will
also have to reinstall all your software and re-enter all your data.
If you have ever taken floppy disks to or from work, or lent or borrowed floppy
disks with your friends or colleagues then your PC is at risk from infection by
a computer virus. Some virii are quite harmless, but others can be devastatingly
destructive.
We can help to lessen the risk of your PC succumbing to either of these problems.
We can visit you as often as you wish to carry out backups or virus checks. Should
remedial action be necessary then we operate a "no fix, no fee" policy. For

What is "Fylde"?
First of all it's Fylde, OK? That's
F - y - l - d - e. Not
Flyed, Fyled or Filed, but Fylde (though it's pronounced as "filed"). If I
had a pound for every time I'd seen it misspelt I would be a rich man!
"The Fylde" is an area of Lancashire bounded (roughly)
by Preston,
Lytham St. Annes, Fleetwood and Blackpool.
